Knowledge can be communicated through many different outlets and forms. Knowledge is something everyone can give because everyone has their own experiences that have shaped the knowledge that they now have. This also makes knowledge accessible to all because there is almost infinite things that you can learn about. It goes along with the saying you learn something new everyday. You are whether you know it or not. Knowledge does not have to be just academic, you can also acquire knowledge through actions or through non-educational outlets. Knowledge knows no limits. An example of knowledge being presented formally is that through an outlet like the University of Colorado. You sit in a lecture hall and have the information presented in front of you to learn. I would say that formal knowledge can be given collectively or individually, but informal knowledge usually happens individually. For example, informal knowledge is that of maybe hanging out with a friend that is of a different culture/background and you learn through listening and interacting with this friend. I think this can tie into our unit on information and argumentation, because knowledge is based within information, information is knowledge. These ideas that we’ve learned in this class has broaden my perspective on how to view certain things within the present world with more insight and recognition then I was previously aware of. It will help me have a better understanding for why things happen or why things are the way they are.
